How do I add my own personal pic for an avatar?

Okay , Fast Eddie posed this question to me and although I did it, I couldn't easily recall and it looked like a valid question that needed answering.

After logging in, click on "Profile" in the menu bar at the top.
On the left select "Forum Profile Information".

Select one of the following:

"Personalized Picture"-
This will give you a choice of famous people like actors etc to us.
These are already provided on the board.

or

"I have my own Pic" -
This is if you have a picture uploaded to another website that you want to use.
Some peole do this when they use the same picture at all sites they belong to.
They have a picture uploaded to a centrally located site and point back to it.

or

I will upload my own picture-
This is the most popular on most message boards.
It has the typical upload box that allows you to choo0se a picture from your computer, upload it and it becomes your avatar.

Keep in mind ... contrary to what your wife, girlfriend, etc told you, size does matter! And bigger is NOT better, in this case at least.

There are literally thousands or more sites that provide avatars for free. There are some really sick ones as well as Disney characters, etc, etc, but the best part is that they are already the correct size (most of the time).

There are also other things on this set up page like adding a "sig" or signature file.
This is a saying that will be added to the bottom of all posts.
You can add your birthday, AIM, Yahoo Messenger addresses and much more.

Let me know if you have any questions.
